Brown’s Bay Packing is deeply rooted in Campbell River and the North Island, where the salmon industry is closely tied to the people, communities, and coastal environment that sustain it. As a founding member of the BC Salmon Farmers Association, we have played an active role in supporting a responsible, collaborative, and forward-looking seafood sector, working alongside partners to strengthen the industry and the regions it supports.
Our relationships with First Nations are built on respect, collaboration, and a shared connection to the coast. We are proud to work alongside Indigenous communities not only as partners in the seafood industry, but as leaders in stewardship and community wellbeing. As a diverse employer, our workforce reflects the communities we serve, bringing together people from a range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. A strong example of this collaboration is our partnership with the Wei Wai Kum First Nation, where we worked together to support local families through a large-scale salmon donation to the community food bank an initiative focused on food security and meaningful, local impact.
Beyond partnerships, our commitment to the region is reflected in how we operate every day. With over $10 million spent annually on supplies and services—approximately 90% sourced locally—we actively invest in the businesses and people that make up our community. From supporting local suppliers to creating stable employment, we are committed to strengthening the North Island economy while contributing to the long-term sustainability of the industry and the communities that depend on it.
