One Billion Pounds
We’ve hit 1 billion pounds processed! A success built on the Millerd family’s longstanding history in salmon processing. With roots stretching back generations, the Millerds brought deep industry knowledge, resilience, and a strong work ethic when they helped establish Brown’s Bay Packing in 1989. Today, Don Millerd remains involved in operations and is joined by part-owners David Stover and Stephen Hall, who continue to innovate, modernize operations, and uphold the values that have shaped the company since its earliest days. This blend of history and forward-thinking leadership is what made the 1-billion-pound milestone possible.
For Brown’s Bay Packing, hitting 1 billion pounds processed represents more than volume, it translates into over 3 billion high-quality, high-protein meals delivered to tables across Canada and beyond. Each one of those meals is the result of countless hours of effort from the people who power the plant every day. From skilled processing crews and quality teams to maintenance staff and long-time employees who have built their careers here, this milestone is a testament to their dedication. Their early mornings, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence are what make Brown’s Bay one of Canada’s top processing facilities and what turned a billion pounds of salmon into billions of meals that feed people all over the world.
